SO, PART 1: First Sight:
In my head, the first part was the romantic one. Run To You (Part I) follows the story of Sarah Spencer/Tessa Carson as she continues her life on the run from the government, and starts as she and her family move to a new town, after they caught the scent of the people they were running from on their trail. But, this town is different for Sarah, because of Tristan: her first friend in a long time, and eventually her first love. I loved the plot of Run to You, because although it wasn’t filled with too many twists, there was plenty of internal conflict and angst on Sarah’s part. She’s torn between love and family, and more importantly, herself. But, I LOVED that Sarah gained confidence, courage and willingness to stick up for what she wanted. She grew a lot in this novella, and she finally took charge of what was once a life of running and hiding. I totally approved of her choice 😉
Then, there’s Tristan, himself! *sigh* He brought down every brick of Sarah’s wall, and I loved how he understood her. He didn’t care about her secrets. It was just her he fell for!! *cries happy tears* Sarah/Tess had because of the lying and he secrets. But I loved that Tristan knew that she couldn’t tell. I loved that he gave her the space she needed. HE MELTED MY HEART ❤ Tristan was such a good guy and it broke my heart that Sarah had to make a choice, and that she finally found love, but there was always something that was going to be holding her back.
“See? I do know you well enough to love you.” He tucked my hair behind my ear. “But the only thing I need to know is that the only time you’re happy is when you’re with me.”
It was all true. Every word.
*SWOON SO HARD*
There was every chance of this being a cliché story that was about a family on the run, and forced into hiding, but IT WASN’T!! The family dynamic started taking form in the first part itself, and the entire premise, about the powers, and her mom’s inability to control herself at times, was unique. I’d never read ANYTHING like it, and I was just looking for more as the first part ended, because that last page was pure HOPE AND ANGST. ACK. I felt for Sarah; for her situation; for her first chance to live a life beyond the secrets and hiding.
AND THEN CAME PART 2: SECOND GLANCE:
This one took off RIGHT where the first part started, and it was almost just as good 😉 In my opinion, this one was the middle novella, in all senses. It was the part that was a half-and-half mix of romance and action. It started off with some pretty coincidental discoveries, and some more which OF COURSE, made the book even more fun. And then the crazy started happening. This one took me on a bumpy rollercoaster! The plot twists, and the plot in general for Second Glance were really well-written, and I had no problem with them. In fact, I LOVED them 🙂 But, it was all good since I got to experience the wonderful Tristan sensations again 😉
We were meant to find each other..
“You’re a superhero.” I laughed. “My own personal superhero.”
Grinning, he gave a mock bow. “At your service.”
hehe. I really did love these two *grins*
But more than First Sight, Second Glance really dug deep into the family dynamic too, showing the Carson family’s weaknesses, and the fact that this book showed that they were full of weaknesses, despite their powers, spoke volumes to how beautiful the story is. I loved the family dynamic in this entire series, because it really showcased the problems that were constantly plaguing Tessa and her family, but it also showed how much they loved each other, and were willing to give up their lives for one another. It was simply beautiful. Tessa, Jillian, Logan, and the mom & dad all made the story the exceptional one is is
Since no spoilers are allowed on the girl’s blog, I’ll settle for GUSHING. I went from SO SO HAPPY for Tristan and Sarah/Tess to totally confused and heartbroken, and THEN THE ENDING COMPLETELY threw me for a loop. I was left hanging, ONCE AGAIN, and I was dying a bit. I absolutely could NOT wait to read the rest of it!!! aka, part 3
SPEAKING OF, PART 3: Third Charm
OHMYGOODNESS. I really hate/love the ends of really intense and action-packed fantasy/sci-fi novels, because everything just comes together SO well. And Run to You was NO different. It was absolutely fantastic! This one was most definitely my favorite of the series, because there was the perfect mix of Tristan and Tessa time ❤ and then there was the whole MIND-BLOWING truth revealed.
^was basically my reaction for a majority of the book 🙂
Third Charm brought everything together so neatly, but it didn’t the truths and overwhelming plot didn’t take anything away from the other aspects of the book. It was just as romantic as the first part, and just as action-packed as the second part. The family dynamic STAYED, and if anything, intensified, and oh god…I have to say, Third Charm was my favorite out of the three because the plot twists were unbelievable and had me reeeling for a couple minutes at a time, and then the way every single truth came out, and Tessa’s choices in this one made it for me. ALSO, this one was the perfect mix of romance too! It was just as romantic as First Sight and just as action-packed as Second Glance. It was the perfect package 🙂
SO, all in all, 4 beautiful, soaring butterflies from me! ♥
